TG Harris Scholarship Program Marks Tenth Year Supporting Armuchee High School Graduates

Over the last ten years, the Thomas G. Harris Scholarship Program has provided 35 Armuchee High School students with room and board scholarships to supplement their HOPE Scholarships, totaling close to $617,000. Several graduates have located in and around the Rome area and are making a valuable contribution to the community in which they were raised.

Lindsay Whitelaw, Director of the program, said, “This scholarship ensures that these ambitious, smart individuals will have continued success in college, despite their current financial situation. It has been an honor to help further Thomas G. Harris’ impact on Armuchee students through this program.” Whitelaw is thrilled that the fund was able to award scholarships to three outstanding Armuchee High School students this year. “Seeing the excitement for these students at awards night was a wonderful way to celebrate this ten year milestone,” she said.
